The Return… ?

             danny-5-2015-4[2].jpg

.

Welcome back, My Dear Shoevians, to ‘The Other Shoe’!  It has been several months, perhaps even a year or more, since I have posted on a regular basis. I am hoping that, with the publication of this article, that is all about to change. Honestly, My Dear Shoevians, I have felt the deep desire to return to writing and publishing from the night Hillary Clinton lost the election to a second-rate-reality-TV-star. However, my health had hampered that effort. My health has not improved, since I made that decision, but my desire to speak out has beat out my pain and discomfort.

.

Everyone that read my articles, and stories, over the past thirteen year, knows my personal politics. Knows that I support a financially conservative/socially liberal administration. I believe that it is the responsibility, of all Presidents, to work (for the American people) to reign in frivolous spending and work to keep our national taxation progressive and not regressive. Now, I am going to take a few lines to explain the different categories of taxation. I do this not to insinuate that any reader does not know this already, merely to make sure that we all are on the same page. So far as nomenclature.

.

progressive tax—A tax that takes a larger percentage of income from high-income groups than from low-income groups. proportional tax—A tax that takes the same percentage of income from all income groups. regressive tax—A tax that takes a larger percentage of income from low-income groups than from high-income groups.” [1]

.

We are now, nearly, to the two year point in this administration and one thing is abundantly clear. This President is the opposite of everything I think our representative democracy should be. He is socially conservative and fiscally liberal. And, that it just the tip of the iceberg, when it comes to the problems I have with this President and his administration.

.

Over the next few months I will delve more and more into the problems that plague this President, and his administration. However, that is not all I will write about.

.

You, My Dear Shoevians, will see the return of; ‘The Mars Report’, ‘Lost in Space’, ‘News From Around the World’, and ‘A Week in Review’. As well, I hope to create all new article series to focus on the changing world around us. I have yet to formalize a title, or the nature of the series, but I hope to start a series of articles that focus on climate change and its effect on America and the word.

.

Thank you for dropping by, and I hope to see you all here often. Please share ‘The Other Shoe’ via all your social media platforms. If you haven’t already, look up ‘The Other Shoe’ on Facebook and Pinterest. You can, also, find me there, too.

Rep. Rohrabacher’s ‘Non-Opinion’ on Net Neutrality

Dana Rohrabacher

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher

.

Dear Shoevians, I have a great little article for all of you today. I even have a quote from Congressman Dana Rohrabacher’s (pictured above) office, here in Southern California. First, Today’s Topic;

  NET NEUTRALITY

.

Today

The Federal Communications Commission voted on Thursday to dismantle landmark rules regulating the businesses that connect consumers to the internet, granting broadband companies the power to potentially reshape Americans’ online experiences.” [1]

.

Now, My Dear Shoevians, I am not going to sit here and tell you what to think about this decisions. At least not in this article, look for another article soon. However, I am going to share with all of you a Quote I got from Alex at the offices of Rep. Dana Rohrabacher. Now, he is the representative for the California’s 48th district. Having said, one would (reasonably) think that all Congressmen and Senators would have an opinion on Net Neutrality. READ!

.

“Rep. Rohrabacher has no opinion on net neutrality.”

(as per “Alex” at the Representative’s Offices)

.

‘No opinion’ on the issue of the day? A voter might well imagine that a responsible and informed Congressman would have an opinion on net neutrality and the actions of the FCC today! I called many offices, today. Here are some of the answers:

.

“He prefers Title One to Title Two” as per Jenny and the offices of Rep. Joe Barton

.

“He wants 21st century laws for 21st century technology.” Sen. Roger Wicker’s office

{Funny thing IS? Title One and Two were both written in 1934! LONG before computers and the internet. Do you think he KNOWS this?}

.

What American Internet Prices May Become

What American Internet Prices May Become

.

Now, My Dear Shoevians, for each and every phone call I identified myself. I told them I was calling to support “Net Neutrality”. I did nothing to tip-up the people I spoke to, and each and every quote I have posted I informed the person at that office I was going to include these quotes in an article on my blog.

.

Portugal Internet Pricing Post Ending Net Neutrality

.

HOW can Rep. Dana Rohrabacher not have an opinion of the issue of the day… and one that will greatly effect the internet and thousands of businesses?

.

Thanks for dropping by, and I look forward to seeing you all here again soon!

Non-Partisan Media Evaluation

Meida Bias Graphic

.

Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to another article here at The Other Shoe. Today I am here to post a short article, but a very important graphic. Below you will find a chart. In this chart are logos, and names, of most of the media outlets we all are familiar. Familiar or not, this graphic (created by a non-partisan media watchdog group) breaks down where the outlets we favor fall.

.

Meaning, is the media outlet I read and use most; Liberal, Progressive, Conservative, Ultra-Conservative, and are they are reliable source or are they highly partisan. I have been writing and publishing, now, for over six years and I found this chart to be very helpful! I already knew where many of these outlets fell, but it did some as a surprise that some of the media I was reading was far more partisan that I realized.

.

My Dear Shoevians, I wanted to share this graphic but I also wanted to make you aware that I will do my best to stick to publishing honest and reliable articles. It is not my intent to write or publish highly partisan articles, there is already more than enough outlets that engage in that practice.

.

Finally, I want you to feel free to save this image for your own use and refer to it as a guide. A guide that might help you, My Dear Shoevians, to guard against a diet of only  highly partisan articles.

Return to Publishing – Redux

Danny Hanning

Danny Hanning

.

Welcome back, My Dear Shoevians, to The Other Shoe. First, I would like to say “Thank you!” to all you Shoevians that keep coming back… and viewing… and reading… and sharing. You ARE the BEST! Second, I would like to express my heartfelt apology for not“returning to publishing” as I stated in my last article back on February 13th, 2016. Finally… an explanation.

.

When I wrote my last published article, it was my real and genuine intent to work towards returning to my regular writing and publishing schedule. However, as most of us know, between desire and reality lives a gulf of possibilities… and a world of tears and broken promises. The fact of the matter is; on the morning of February 14th (Valentine’s Day) I started up my computer (with the intent of writing several articles, to be published over the next week), as I have thousands of times before, launched Google Chrome and brought up the admin pages of my four blog locations.

.

I had just logged on to all four admin pages… and… BAM! BSOD!!! (Blue Screen of Death). The computer rebooted, after saving the dump file, and…  it… was… dead! The video adapter was not working. The computer ran incredibly slow, and I was unable to connect to the internet… regardless of what I did. Over the next two weeks, whenever I was out of pain enough, I worked on the computer. I did everything I had ever learned about video cards, and Windows errors… to no avail. My Dear Shoevians, within hours of publishing that promise… I was unable to honor my commitment.

.

The following Monday, not the 15th but Monday the 22nd, I took my computer back to the people that had fixed it the last time. They kept the computer for TEN DAYS! Only to return it to me… unrepaired, explaining that “the motherboard needs to be replaced… it is on backorder.”I am to bring my computer back (again) Thursday and they are going to have the motherboard effect the replacement. At least… that is what I am being told.

.

My Dear Shoevians, over the past year I have invested; MORE THAN $400 in repair costs, weeks of time waiting, and a tremendous amount of anxiety and frustration. I have been completely unable to write and publish! I have been lost! All the while more and more newsworthy incidents have occurred… and I have been voiceless the entire time!!! I deeply long to write and publish articles about; the debacle that is the Trump campaign, the deep division growing in the Republican Party and the violence! I am just dying to write about the; bigotry, racism, intolerance, xenophobia, hatred, and sexism that has been the hallmark of Trump’s campaign. This is very difficult for me, very frustrating and extremely upsetting.

.

If they can/do replace my motherboard, and my computer works, I will work to write and publish as often as possible. I genuinely long to write about; this election, the Trump candidacy, the tenure of narrative coming from the Republican candidates and contrast that withDemocrat nomination process. I can remember sitting, with my father, and watching the ‘Kennedy/Nixon’ Presidential debate. (The very first one with the sweaty Nixon) As well, I remember a great deal about all the Presidential elections since. My Dear Shoevians, I have never EVER witnessed a more; divisive, hurtful, negative and superficial nomination process (by either party) in my entire life. And, I am missing out on writing about this historic election… because after spending $400 on repairs… my computer still does not work.

.

There you have it, My Dear Shoevians. The why I was unable to keep my previous promise to you. The how I hope to, now, meet that challenge. And the when it might happen. Oh, how I wish I was of the means to just forget the notebook computer I have used for writing and publishing these past five years. How I wish that I had the means to just buy a new computer and all the software that I need/use very single time I write and publish. I could never put into words… the feeling I get when I hit the ‘Publish’ button, and then go and view the article I have written and published at the four blog locations.

.

The pride and joy I feel as I promote the articles I have written and published on; Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Pintrest. For you see, My Dear Shoevians, that right now in my life there are not a lot of times that I do feel pride and joy. That I can have these feelings and bring entertainment and information to all of you, My Dear Shoevians? Well, that is what has given me the desire to live that has empowered me through my diseases and maladies.

.

Finally, I would like to take a moment to say “Thank you!” again to all of you from dropping by… and for many of you… for keeping coming by and visiting throughout the many months I have been absent. I promise you, I genuinely want to return. I sincerely have a ton of ideas and thoughts, insights and opinions, entertainment and information to share with all of you, My Dear Shoevians. I will keep you informed, to the best of my ability. Hopefully, soon, I will be writing you to tell you my computer is either fixed or replaced and that I will be working to achieve my previous publishing schedule. Until then, you can find me on Facebook… look me up and send me a friend request.

.

Adieu!

.

Thank you!

.

Trump – Racism and Fraud

Trump June 16th, 2015

                                                              Trump June 16th 2015

.

Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. A long and difficult absence is ending. With Christmas a little under two weeks away, and the New Year just around the corner, I have elected to begin my renewed presence here on the web. As well, recent comments by Republican Presidential hopeful Donald Trump I feel compelled to stand for those he seeks to oppress and against the resurgence of a level of social hatred and racism I have not seen since when I was six years old.

.

Even before the race riots of the early sixties, America had faced another trial by fire, the xenophobia and hatred of the McCarthy era. Honestly, My Dear Shoevians, I really had thought… hoped and prayed, that I would never see such racism and xenophobia infect our national dialogue again. I know that a majority of Americans do not agree with Donald Trump’s racist and xenophobic remarks about Muslims.

.

As a matter of fact, just today ( December 14, 2015) a NBC/Wall Street Journal poll showed that 57%of Americans do not agree with Trump’s racist remarks against Muslims, or with his plan to halt all American travel based on a individuals religious preference. I was quite happy to read this poll, and have my faith in the American people restored. Only 25%, of Americans polled, agreed with Trump’s religiously insensitive remarks and his xenophobic plan.

.

Fifty-seven percent of all adults disagree with Trump’s proposal, versus 25 percent who agree.

But views are mixed among Republicans: 42 percent of GOP respondents support Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from entering the U.S., while 36 percent oppose it.

And among Republican primary voters, it’s 38 percent support, 39 percent oppose.

By comparison, 75 percent of Democrats and 55 percent of independents disagree with Trump’s proposal.”[1]

.

Lack of Support for Trump's Ban on Muslims

Lack of Support for Trump’s Ban on Muslims

.

This is, My Dear Shoevians, one of the times when I am very glad that a growing majority of you, My Dear Shoevians, are international readers and not Americans. Our nation, America, has become so very divided, so very negative and so very hurtful. As I mentioned above, when I was but a boy of six years old, I watched in horror as policemen used fire hoses to beat down African-American protesters fighting for equal rights. I watched in revolution as Southern police unleashed attack dogs on said protesters. It was a shocking site to see angry, obviously mistreated, dogs bark and snarl right in the face of frightened African-American citizens.

.

I had seen the pictures of the lynching, happening in states close by, and witnessed the burning crosses in my own hometown. I knew of the institutionalized racism that was so prevalent all through the ‘Bible Belt’. ‘How oxymoronic’ I thought to myself, self-proclaimed Christians acting and performing in such very UN-Christian ways against their fellow Americans. I was very happy when the Civil Rights Act of 1964[2]  and the Voting Rights Act of 1965[3] were signed into law. I had hoped that with these anti-discrimination laws, on the books, that America had decided to leave a very ugly and dark episode of our history… behind. That is, until recently and the Presidential run of one Donald J. Trump.

.

.

It all began with this:

.

The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems. … When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists[4]

.

This statement was made, by Donald J Trump, in early June 2025. Over the coming weeks Donald took opportunity after opportunity to double down on this remark. Never once did he retract his; hateful, hurtful, racist sweeping generalization of Hispanic Americans. And, why should he? On that, fateful, day Donald J. Trump hit a magical cord in the hearts and minds of a very vocal and hateful minorityof Americans. Again, for my international Shoevians? We, Americans, do not all agree with the hateful/hurtful/racist and xenophobic remarks. A great many Americans, like myself, find these words not only objectionable? We find that they are indicative of a time long past. A very dark and insidious time in America’s recent past, within my lifetime.

.

Donald Trump ‘Doubling Down’ on Racist Remarks Against Hispanics

.

Donald’s actions, his racist actions against Hispanic Americans, landed him in hot water with NBC and Univision.

.

“At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values,” the company said in a statement on Monday. “Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBC is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump.[5]

.

And Univision:

.

“Last week, Univision decided to end its relationship with Trump by dropping his Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, and now NBC has followed suit. The move comes after a Change.org petition asking NBC to get rid of Trump garnered more than 200,000 signatures.[6]

.

Then, just this past Sunday on ‘Face the Nation’ Donald J. Trump flirted with McCarthyism like no politician has since the end of the McCarthy Trials in 1956. In a statement made on CBS’ ‘Face the Nation’ Trump proclaimed that he would “go after the wives” and even families of terrorists.

.

“I’d go after the wives…”

“What I’d do, I’ll leave to your imagination…”[7]

.

You see, My Dear Shoevians, this is the slippery slope of “going after” secondary and tertiary people. It starts digressing into “naming names” and all the sudden, we have McCarthyism all over again! This kind of institutionalized social paranoia, this xenophobic hate and vindictiveness is what lead our great nation down the dark and bloody halls of a ‘Witch Hunt’!

.

Even more recently, just seven days ago (on ‘Pearl Harbor Day’, December 7th, 2015) Donald Trump, when asked if he would “get rid of Muslims”, took his statements of September 17th, 2015;

.

“A lot of people are saying that and a lot of people are saying that bad things are happening out there, we’re going to be looking at that and plenty of other things,”[8]

.

A step further and Trump called for:

.

“a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.”[9]

.

.

Over the next week Trump has taken every opportunity to double down, again and again on this racist rant. OK! I know that, some, of my American readers (mostly, again ironically from the ‘Bible Belt’)have taken issue with my use of the word “Racist”. Stating that “Muslim is not a ‘race’”. Oy vey, if only they had been here when Americans were doing this same thing to Hebrew Americans at the turn of the 20th century! However, since this ilk has an unquenchable hatred for anything; multi-national, international, ‘Other-Than-White-American’ they have (#epicfail) failed to read or acknowledge the United Nations – International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination of 1962.

.

Article 1 of the Convention defines “racial discrimination” as

any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life.

Distinctions made on the basis of citizenship (that is, between citizens and non-citizens) are specifically excluded from the definition, as are affirmative action policies and other measures taken to redress imbalances and promote equality.

This definition does not distinguish between discrimination based on ethnicity and discrimination based on race, in part because the distinction between the ethnicity and race remains debatable among anthropologists.[25] The inclusion of descent specifically covers discrimination on the basis of caste and other forms of inherited status.[26]

Discrimination need not be strictly based on race or ethnicity for the Convention to apply. Rather, whether a particular action or policy discriminates is judged by its effects”[10]

.

So, as far back as 1962, the international community concluded that “racial discrimination’ (aka racism) is not based on race, in part because the distinction between the ethnicity and race remains debatable among anthropologists.”! Meaning, that ‘racism’ has the distinction of being any overt social action that seeks to separate for the means of demeaning/degrading another cross-section of humanity, while promoting themselves as superior to those targeted! That is‘racial discrimination’ and that = RACISM!

.

Now, I understand that this makes some Americans… uncomfortable, and because of that lack of comfort that they reject the drawing of parallels between; racial discrimination and ‘racism’. What is funny, to me, is that they freely engage in racist acts… IN PUBLIC… but shy away from being‘labeled’ as racist. Seems to me, that if you don’t want to be perceived as ‘racist’ then one should put a wide breath between their; actions, words, posting, writings and anything that even remotely resembles RACISM! However, they would rather run from the truth, vainly attempt to turn the tables on their accusers and seek refuge among only like-minded individuals. This is the way it was during McCarthyism. This is the way it was during the Race Riots and the beating of African Americans in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Little has changed, but the faces of those offending.

.

Now, on with ‘Trump the Fraud’.

.

The Late 'Great'? Trump University

                                          The Late ‘Great’? Trump University

.

Some of the materials that I will share in the remainder of this article come from the November 16th, 2015 edition of Time magazine. Starting on page #42, of this edition, Time reporter Steven Brill outlines, “What the litigation over Trump University reveals about the man who would be President.” Now, My Dear Shoevians, I had seen the advertisements, even received one of his‘invitations to attend’ one of the ‘Opening’ “seminars’ that were held in Los Angeles. My Dear Shoevians, I (like most Americans) would love to ‘Strike it Rich’. However, I spent from age 8 to age 13 watching my father attend ‘Dare to be Great!’ seminars, and seminars on ‘How to Make Your First Million in Real Estate’ and more that I cannot even remember the names. Yes, my father worked very hard at two jobs from as early as I can remember, until he left the family when I was 13. Trump University is, in my educated and informed opinion, just another ‘Dare to be Great’ SCAM!

.

.

Now, My Dear Shoevians, in order to get this article up for everyone to read today? (December 14, 2015) I am going to have to cut this part of the article… a little short. I have more than a half-dozen pages of the Time article to boil-down to its salient points, and a ton of material from the internet to research and condense. Here is the crux of the lawsuit, and the problem, with Trump’s ‘Trump University’.

.

  1. 1.   Trump claims, from onset, that it will be a “University better than any other…” However, there was NEVER ANY structures EVER built… ANYWHERE!
  2. 2.   Claims it’s “The Next Best Thing” to being Donald Trump’s “apprentice”. Though, in FIVE YEARS not ONE SINGLE STUDENT ever; met, studied under, or was ‘mentored’ by Donald Trump.
  3. 3.   Targeted emails and letters stating “Trump University was ‘Their Ticket’ to avoiding spending their final years working as greeters at their local Walmart”. Though in FIVE YEARS NOBODY EVER GRADUATED!
  4. 4.   Lured 7,000 consumers to PAYING $1,495.00 to $34,995.00 for courses where “Donald Trump’s Hand Picked instructors” would teach them Trump’s “insider success secrets”. NO ONE EVER OBTAINED ANY “success secrets” some paying more than $50,000.00 for NOTHING!
  5. 5.   Sold a $1,495 “Three Day Seminar Program” that was NOTHING MORE than a THREE DAY PITCH to purchase the $9,995.00 package or the “Ultimate Package with ‘Trump HANDPICKED Mentor’. That was ONLY another HARD SELL for the $34,995.00 package.
  6. 6.   Trump University STOLE $34,995.00 from Boyce Chait (84) and his wife Evelyn (80) that live in New Jersey. Boyce claims (in court papers under oath) that the course was “to be worth nothing. When it came to the nitty-gritty, there was nothing there.” Their money was NEVER refunded by Trump or Trump University.
  7. 7.   Donald Trump ‘claims’ that he made “no money” from the venture. However, the court discovered a TENDERED $500,000 check FROM Trump University to Donald J Trump
  8. 8.   Promised ‘students’ “tricks to flip distressed properties with NONE OF THEIR OWN MONEY…” that “Banks would open doors for them to lend money…”. Only to be marched into bank after bank and being REFUSED LOANS with Trump’s “Hand Picked Mentors” standing right beside them!

.

My Dear Shoevians, I will be back later this week to flesh out all this information. I just really want to get this article published… TODAY!

.

I would like to take this time to say “Thank you!” to all of you, My Dear Shoevians, for dropping by and reading and watching. As always, if You have enjoyed your stay and this article? Please remember to ‘Like’ and ‘Share’ this article (and my blog) via any/all of your social media outlets. This way more and more people get to enjoy what you have enjoyed, here today.

Bing Pulse – Is Trump’s Antics Helping our Harming GOP? Results in Article

According to today’s Bing Pulse survey, held each day at 1PM Eastern, the media has it all wrong about Trump and his antics! Today, during the Thomas Robert’s show, MSNBC help a live poll, here was the question: “Is Donald Trump’s blunt rhetoric helping or hurting the GOP?”

.

The answer may well surprise you, the American people and the American media outlets. The answer is below!”

Bing Pulse.

Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other ShoeToday may well mark a change in just how Americans and the American media view the caustic antics of one Donald J. Trump. At least, one would hope that this poll’s results would garner notice and gain weight in our Presidential Primary. I know, for a fact, My Dear Shoevians, that I took notice and decided to push aside my regularly scheduled article to feature these results. First, in an effort to be truthful and forthright to all of you, My Dear Shoevians, did take part in this survey. However, I seriously doubt that my one vote shifted the results in any substantive fashion.

.

This poll was taken via Bing Pulse during the hour broadcast of the ‘Live with Thomas Roberts’ on MSNBC. I cannot get the breakdown of the survey. How many people, how it broke down according to party, and total number of votes. However, the ending vote was quite clear and speaks volumes! At the beginning of the hour the poll was heavily leaning towards “Helpful”, meaning that the voters thought the caustic antics of one Donald J. Trump was “Helping” the GOP brand. Curious and curiouser, I thought to myself because the vat majority of people I have conversations with thought quite the opposite!

.

As the hour progressed so did the voting. I was watching the show on TV, and the voting trend on my PC. A most amazing this began to happen. After the announcement, on air, that the vote broke down 75% Helping to 25% Harming I began to see much more activity. As the activity grew, and the number of Americans voting, a drastic shift began to appear. This shift is the reason for this article today, and Why I believe that American Media are getting it wrong about Trump!

.

As the hour moved on, so happened a drastic shift in the voting pattern. With every passing minuet the poll shifted from a majority thinking Donald Trump’s caustic antics were “Helpful to the GOP” to vast majority not voting that Donald Trump’s caustic antics were actually “Harmful to the GOP”I watched and watched as the numbers greatly shifted in just a matter of less than an hour! By the end of the show, and the hour long polling period, a drastic shift was not a reality.

.

At the end of it all, and all the votes were counted and tabulated, the final numbers did appear. On the question “Is Donald Trump’s blunt rhetoric helping or hurting the GOP?” the numbers told my story: 66% voted that it HARMS the GOP and 34% voted it was helpful! Oy Vey! That is quite change from the top of the hour, and the beginning of the polling. However, the American public have spoken! This is my ‘Take-Away’! Regardless of the (sic) love affair the media outlets have for one Donald J. Trump? The AMERICAN PEOPLE strongly agree that his caustic (and self-aggrandizing) antics are HARMFUL to the GOP!

.

Donald Trump Defends "Blood" Comments

.

Now, the question remains, “Will American Media Outlets CHANGE?” I am not hopeful in that it appears that a majority of the sick individuals in American that enjoy these caustic antics (and ‘Reality TV) are the ‘Target Demographic’ of American Media Outlets. That these ‘news’ agencies are merely tools of their corporate executives and all are really just whores. Whores for attention. Whores for ratings, just like Donald J. Trump. Because, if we have proved nothing, today, we have proved that Donald J. Trump is a Media Whore and will keep up his caustic antics harming the GOP in the process.

.

The vast majority of American know that Donald J. Trump (Media Whore Exceptional) will never cal 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue his home. Never in a million years. However, for the next many months we, the American people, will have to endure his caustic antics while our nation’s media outlets play to the whore.

.

Adieu!

.

Thank you!

.

Trump at Saturday's Redstate Event

.

“ATLANTA – The conservative RedState Gathering began Thursday night with activists cheering wildly at a debate party as Donald Trump dismissed a question from Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly about misogynist rhetoric as “political correctness.”

Less than 36 hours later, the same audience erupted into applause and a few scatted boos Saturday as host Erick Erickson announced he had banned Trump from the event for suggesting Kelly was menstruating when she asked the question.

“I think he has disqualified himself,” Erickson told reporters, adding that the episode “probably is the beginning of the end” for Trump.

RELATED: Trump speech canceled over Megyn Kelly comments

If there’s one thing Trump has proved so far, it’s that nobody can predict what’s going to happen in the polls. But the political winds seemed to have changed here in Atlanta, where Trump wore out his welcome in an extremely short period with the hardline voters who should be his base.

To hear Erickson describe it, the Trump cancellation is the start of a broader exorcism for the conservative movement in which they must confront their snarling demons to find salvation the other side.

“I have emails from people referring to Megyn Kelly as a whore, I have emails from people referring to me as gay, I have emails referring to the president by the n-word and [saying] Donald trump is standing up to all of us,” he said onstage. “We will not gain the White House if we are not going to be happy warriors.”

Trump punished for Megyn Kelly attack
Msnbc’s Benjy Sarlin joins Alex Witt to explain the reasoning behind why Donald Trump was dis-invited to speak at the RedState gathering and how the GOP feels about this presidential candidate.

Language like this prompted whoops of approval Saturday, but it may have fallen flat even a day earlier. In over a dozen interviews before Trump’s feud with Kelly, RedState participants offered strikingly similar assessments of the billionaire populist. Nearly every attendee who talked to MSNBC praised Trump for channeling their anger at the status quo, for drawing attention to issues like illegal immigration, and – perhaps most of all – for giving establishment Republicans fits with his outrageous rhetoric. “

Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other ShoeI had promised myself to not cover Trump anymore. However, if it is his fall from grace, as we see here today, then I am quite happy to break with my promise. This article tells most of the story, although there is a part that has been omitted. During an interview, at the Redstate convention, Donald Trump answered a question about Megyn Kelly where he blamed her questioning of him (on Thursday) to a woman’s monthly reproductive cycle

.

I’ll let that sink in a for a few moments. It seems that Trump is the bully-on-the-playground of our national political contest. For me, there is no room for a bully in the White House or on the road to the White House. This should spell ultimate disaster, fro Trump, even for his most ardent supporters. However, we will see if Trump is made of Teflon.

.

Have a great weekend and, as always, if you have enjoyed your visit? Be sure to ‘Like’ and ‘Share’so that all your; family, friends, co-workers and acquaintances can know just where to come for all their ‘Trump’ news!

.

Adieu!

Thank you!

A Week in Review – August 2nd 2015

NASA's Curiosity Rover Inspects Unusual Bedrock

.

Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. I am quite happy to announce that this week I did manage to; research, write, edit, footnote and embed images into five articles. This is mybenchmark for a ‘Good’ week. Now, what makes this week even better than ‘Good’ (for me) is that this week contained my thesis work on the ‘P5+1 Iran Nuclear Deal – JCPOA’ (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action)– ‘Iran Deal – Part Two’. This was a monumental task and was not possible without reading all 159 pages of the nuclear treaty. That, My Dear Shoevians, is a major accomplishment all by itself!

.

Really, if you were to give my articles weight according to length and composition, I published aboutten articles this week. Today ‘A Week in Review’ is a day late, and there will not be an edition of‘Sunday Funnies’. I apologize for this whole in my regular publishing schedule, but I just had to take a few days’ break, after that thesis length article explaining the JPCOA. Now I am rested and, mostly, healed from that adventure and ready to move ahead.

.

As I mentioned, late last week, this coming week I have another ‘Journey to L.A.’ on Tuesday. I was hoping to write and put a few articles into the hopper, for publication while I am gone and recovering. However, I have been unable to accomplish that goal as of yet. I will make every effort, today and tomorrow, to put together some articles. If all else fails, I will make several “Press This’articles to fill in the week. Well, now that we are all caught up, I think that it is time to get the to heart of this article.

.

So, without further adieu I give you ‘A Week in Review’!

.

Hey! I'm napping here!

Hey! I’m napping here!

  • Sunday Funnies – July 26th – Mohawk Rat – Redux “Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to a Redux of a recent ‘Sunday Funnies’ titled ‘Mohawk Rat!’. In this video we can see Gryphon combing the fur on his head, after a recent bath. It looks like he is styling his fur into a Mohawk haircut. This will be the very first ‘Sunday Funnies’ to appear at my all new blog location. Hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend. Have a great Sunday!” This is my, by far, most favorite video (so far) by my newest little furry friend, Gryphon. ‘Mohawk Rat!’ Is something that all my little furry fellows have done, after taking a bath, but Gryphon really get into it! Every time I run this article, I see a real spike in traffic. This shows me that Gryphon is going to be a highlight to this blog, and a star all his won. ENJOY!

  • The Mars Report – July 27th, 2015 – “Our first image appears at the top of the article. This is an artist’s representation of NASA’s Mars Odyssey spacecraft. This June the 23rd the Odyssey spacecraft made its 60,000th orbit over the Martian surface. Its orbiting began on October 23rd, 2001 and on December 15th, 2010 it became the longest orbiting spacecraft over Mars. My, notorious, last image of this edition was taken by Odyssey. An image will take your breath away.” My Dear Shoevians THIS was the very first article published at the new blog location, that was written and published, my original way. This is my most favorite article series, right up there with ‘Lost in Space’. My articles on space, and space exploration, have a special place in my heart. I hope that everyone takes a look at this edition, I put a lot of love into this work. ENJOY!

  •  Iran – War or Peace – Part One – Historic Relevance – “Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. Today (July 28th, 2013) with this article I will engage and inform you, My Dear Shoevians, in a way and a theater of discussion which we are unaccustomed. I, generally, refrain from writing and publishing articles about domestic and/or foreign policy. In specific a discussion on American foreign policy and/or international treaties and their content. However, the current ‘P5+1 Iranian Nuclear Deal’ is of such international and historic significance I would be completely socially remiss if I did not share my insights and opinion. Therefore, My Dear Shoevians, I beg your indulgence (this time) while I work to dispel harmful rhetoric, enhance broader understanding and engage the men and women of America and the international community. Thank you for your understanding and support.” This article was written after listening to the ‘talking heads’ of the Right/Far-Right trash-talk our President and this agreement for many days. What I found most surprising, and enlightening, was that many (if not most) had not taken the time to READ the agreement PRIOR to starting the trash-talk. Debate, without knowledge, is not debate… it is a sophomoric exercise in Orwellian rhetoric. I will engage anyone on the FACTS and MERITS of this, or any, agreement. However, to engage in a public dressing down of; this President, the Secretary of State, and ALL the LEADERS of the P5+1 (Germany, Russia, China, the United Kingdom, America and France) WITHOUT having read a single word! Well, I have a name for that ‘Ignorant Hyperbolic Rhetoric’. In this article I draw a historic parallel between President Reagan and the SALT agreements, with the U.S.S.R. (our NUCLEAR nemesis at the time) and how his actions were categorized and the same rhetoric being used against President Obama now over this agreement.

  • Iran Deal – Part Two – The Agreement – “Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. As promised, today I am sharing with all of you the very TEXT of the ‘Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action’ aka the ‘P5+1 Iran Nuclear Agreement’. Today’s article has taken several days to complete. I do this out of a love of PEACE and the best possible future for our nation and its inhabitants. I do this for PEACE. … Now, without further adieu, I give you… … …” The single most important effort taken for PEACE in the first part of the Twenty-First Century. One-hundred-Fifty-nine pages of Treaty read –DONE! Treaty then researched and broken into digestible sections, DONE!  Written: THIRTY pages of; explanation, narrative, background, and breakdown of a very complex and exacting treaty, DONE! In this, 30 page, article I have attempted to address each and every concern that has surfaced since the announcement of this agreement. I have taken the hyper partisan hyperbolic rhetoric and put aside my ‘feelings’ and treated their (Uninformed = they haveNOT R E A D the agreement) talking points with dignity and honor. Then, I went about proving that their fears are, just that, FEAR. ENJOY!

  • Chandra :: Photo Album :: PSR B1259-63 :: July 22, 2015 – “Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. While doing a little late night, or early morning, searching through NASA/JPL web site I stumbled upon THIS incredible image. Taken by the Chandra X-Ray observatory in space, this image shows a “Chuck of debris” being jettisoned from a “double-star system” at incredibly high speeds. Now, when they say “Chuck of debris” this is actually a sizable amount of debris, as it is One Hundred times the size of our solar system!” While wandering around the web, one day, I stumbled upon the most incredible image I have ever seen. An Artist impression of a galactic occurrence of biblical proportions, so I just had to share! The images are from the ‘Chandra X-Ray Space Telescope’ they are of a pulsar shooting a galaxy-sized cloud of space debristhrough the orbit of a star! This is the very first time mankind has ever bore witness to a space occurrence of this magnitude. I would be completely remiss if I didn’t share it with YOU, MY Dear Shoevians. ENJOY!

.

With that, My Dear Shoevians, I bring this edition of ‘A Week in Review’ to a close, and this week’s publication to a close, as well. I do hope that everyone has enjoyed this week’s information and adventures. I will be back, next week, to share more and more of the world around us.

.

Adieu!

.

Thank you!

Republican Presidential Candidates Address 2015 Family Leadership Summit

Republican Presidential Candidates Address 2015 Family Leadership Summit

.

“In a Sunday televised phone interview on ABC’s “This Week,” Trump was defiant about his comments the previous day. “I’m very disappointed in John McCain because the vets are horribly treated in this country. I’m fighting for the vets, I’ve done a lot for the vets,” Trump told host Martha Raddatz. “They’re treated like third class citizens. He’s done nothing to help the vets. And I will tell you they are living in hell.”

Trump claimed that “nobody was insulted” at the Family Leader Summit by his comments and that subsequent uproar was being generated by his 2016 GOP rivals “some of whom are registering 1% and 0” in the polls. He went on to blame McCain for instigating their public squabble because the Arizona senator had described some of his supporters as “crazies.” “And frankly, I think he owes them an apology,” Trump said.Trump’s attacks on McCain have resurrected criticism of his own history of military service, or lack thereof. When asked about a series of deferments he received during the Vietnam War, Trump said, “I had student deferments, like many other people had, during the war or around the time of the war. I had a minor medical deferment for feet, for a bone spur of the foot, which was minor. I was then entered into the draft because if I would have gotten a different number, I could have been drafted.”“I was fortunate, in a sense, because I was not a believer in the Vietnam War. That was another war that was a disaster for this country. Lives and money and it’s disgraceful what happened with the Vietnam War. I was not a fan of the Vietnam War,” he continued.

Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. Well, it is now Sunday, and for those of us that are of a political persuasion, it is time for the Sunday morning Political Talk Shows. On today’s edition of ‘This Week’ Donald Trump doubled down of his comments from Saturday at the ‘Family Leadership Summit’. Pushing Senator McCain even further claiming that the Senator “owes them an apology” for referring to some of McCain’s voters as “crazies”.As I have stated, time and time again, this kind of hyperbolic and hyper partisan rhetoric is not what the majority of Americans want to hear, want to witness, and will not vote for. I have no idea why Donald Trump keeps attacking the senior Senator from Arizona, but my guess is that he believes it will bolster his polling numbers and put distance from him and Jeb Bush. My two cents? I have a feeling that this just might backfire on Trump and force a further divide within the Republican party. With Republicans already fractured, this is not what the RNC or Republican mainstream candidates want.

.

As always, My Dear Shoevians, I will keep tabs on this situation and keep you all informed. Have a great Sunday, and a wonderful end to this beautiful weekend!

GOPers denounce Donald Trump amid fiery feud with John McCain | MSNBC

.

AMES, Iowa – “Donald Trump said on Saturday that GOP Sen. John McCain of Arizona was “not a war hero” because he had been taken prisoner by the Vietcong, prompting a firestorm of criticism from Republican leaders.“He’s not a war hero,” Trump said during an onstage Q&A at the conservative Family Leadership Summit, an event that features a number of Republican presidential contenders. “He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured, okay?”

Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. This is just WAY out of line, IMHO! I am a well known Democrat, but even I (myslef) find this just too hyperbolic for ANY party at ANY time. I am reading that, shortly after making these distrubing remarks, he DENIED that he EVER SAID IT!!! My Dear Shoevians, America and Americans MUST make a STAND against this type of gut wrenching hyperbolic rhetoric.
