Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. As well, welcome to the very first ‘A Week in Review’ since our web blog upgrade to our very own site (http://theothershoe.co/ ). Making this a week of firsts this week is also a celebration of the most articles published in recent memory! Since Sunday July 19th, 2015 I have written and published… … … (drum roll, please!) … … … TWELVE that’s right TWELVE articles here at The Other Shoe for all of you, My Dear Shoevians! We started on Sunday with the publication of the infighting between Donald Trump and Senator John MCCain, and worked our way through the week to Donald Trump picking a fight with Senator Lindsey Graham. Seems this showboating charlatan just cannot get along with anyone that is his elder and/or a Senator.

.

Thankfully that was not all this week was about. I covered topics ranging from a brand new species of dinosaur discovered in China and the 49th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon to discoveries made by NASA’s Dawn spacecraft and NASA’s New Horizons orbiter spacecraft. To say the least, this week has been chocked full of science and discoveries, mixed (lightly) with some showboating by Republican candidates. I just couldn’t have picked a better week to launch and all new blog location! Thank you, reality, for providing much fodder for my writing and my blog!

.

However, My Dear Shoevians, the biggest surprise for me was the return of my original ‘Primary’ blog location, matched only by the fact that I was (thankfully) able to make all TWELVE publications “Quad-Blog Publications’! That’s right, this week was host to a whole group of publications that appeared at all four of my current blog locations. Not to get ahead of myself (later next week… or the week after, I will be publishing an whole article about the blog traffic, since my purchase of the new URL) but on one day between all four blogs I had over ONE HUNDERED Visitors! That makes for a real record for my blogs… at least for this year.

.

Since the first day of my first article published at The Other Shoe (at Blog Dot Com) I have wanted to have that many visitors in one day. Of course, as the week went on, and my old primary location crashed… again, and again… that number decreased. However, I am not discouraged because I know that the problems will pass, my work will continue, and you, My Dear Shoevians, will help me break more and more visitation records in the coming weeks, months and years.

.

This is a ‘Good Thing’ for me, and my long term goals, for all of my longtime readers… my dearest My Dear Shoevians know that my goal is the publication of one or more of my novels. These blogs are a way of building name (and brand) recognition, honing my; writing, editing and publishing skills and learning just what people want to read. These blogs are doing just that, and so much more.

.

Well, now that we have all of that out of the way… I guess that it is time for ‘A Week in Review’ for July 25th, 2017.

Uncovering the secrets of the Quintuplet Cluster

Uncovering the secrets of the Quintuplet Cluster

  • Hubble Uncovering the Secrets of the Quintuplet Cluster | NASA Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. I am still busy at work preparing this all new blog location for your enjoyment, there were some happenings that I just should not let pass us by! I will, hopefully, returning to a more regular publishing schedule on Monday July, 20th 2015. Until then I will do my best to keep you updated with all the news and happenings. Stay tuned for greatness! With the publication of this article, my brand new adventure with my all new URL for The Other Shoe started. This was a very brief article, but I was still getting used to the new ways I am able to write and publish with this new site. This was a beautiful beginning to a great week!
Pluto is Dominated by the Feature Informally Named the “Heart”

Pluto is Dominated by the Feature Informally Named the “Heart”

  • New Horizons Discovers Frozen Plains in the Heart of Pluto’s ‘Heart’- “Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. This article is just the first in a series of articles I have planned for later this week. You can look for all new editions of ‘Lost in Space’ starting Monday. These images will be beaming to earth for the next 16 months. You need go NO further than right here at The Other Shoe for all your news and images from the New Horizons orbiter.” Another very short article… but some of the most incredible images I have ever shared on my blogs. You will shortly see that as the week progresses, so does the length of my articles increases.
Republican Presidential Candidates Address 2015 Family Leadership Summit

Republican Presidential Candidates Address 2015 Family Leadership Summit

  • GOPers denounce Donald Trump amid fiery feud with John McCain – “”Donald Trump said on Saturday that GOP Sen. John McCain of Arizona was “not a war hero” because he had been taken prisoner by the Vietcong, prompting a firestorm of criticism from Republican leaders.“He’s not a war hero,” Trump said during an onstage Q&A at the conservative Family Leadership Summit, an event that features a number of Republican presidential contenders. “He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured, okay?” And the flames of hyperbolic rhetoric shoot from the face of ‘The Donald’. Not content to attack an American War Hero, later in the week ‘The Donald’ begins his attack of Senator Lindsey Graham… which I cover here at The Other Shoe!

  • Trump offers no Apologizes for McCain War Record Attack– “Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. Well, it is now Sunday, and for those of us that are of a political persuasion, it is time for the Sunday morning Political Talk Shows. On today’s edition of ‘This Week’ Donald Trump doubled down of his comments from Saturday at the ‘Family Leadership Summit’. Pushing Senator McCain even further claiming that the Senator “owes them an apology” for referring to some of McCain’s voters as “crazies”.As I have stated, time and time again, this kind of hyperbolic and hyper partisan rhetoric is not what the majority of Americans want to hear, want to witness, and will not vote for. I have no idea why Donald Trump keeps attacking the senior Senator from Arizona, but my guess is that he believes it will bolster his polling numbers and put distance from him and Jeb Bush. My two cents? I have a feeling that this just might backfire on Trump and force a further divide within the Republican party. With Republicans already fractured, this is not what the RNC or Republican mainstream candidates want.” NOW we can see that I am getting back more into the swing of writing and publishing with the new site, and the new site software. As the week progresses you will see that I am back to publishing articles of the same length and nature of my previous works!

Image: Sen. Bernie Sanders Holds Town Hall And Rally In Phoenix, Arizona

  • Bernie Sanders Draws Largest Crowds Yet in Phoenix“Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. I am just getting my footing, at my all new web site, and with this election cycle and I have realized that I have not give Senator Bernie Sanders enough ink. (Well… honestly… any ink… at all) That changes right now! With this article I launch my coverage of the campaign of Bernie Sanders for President. :)” This is my very first article covering the Presidential Campaign of Bernie Sanders. It will not be my last, and I hope that I do his run for office, justice!
Dawn Orbiter Maps Ceres

Dawn Orbiter Maps Ceres

  • Dawn Maneuvering to Third Science Orbit “Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. While working up some more great images from the New Horizons of Pluto I ran across this great article about the Dawn mission, currently mapping Ceres. Ceres, you might remember, was all in the news right before New Horizons started sending historic images back from Pluto. If you look over the right hand sidebar, you will see a rotating image of Ceres. Currently Dawn has descended to an altitude of 2,400 feet from the surface of Ceres.” Now, My Dear Shoevians, you can begin (with this article) to see the return of my writing style and how I have many images in each and every article. By the Friday publication I have returned to my original style and content structure. Thanks for hanging in there, as I got used to the new site and software.

Astronaut Edwin E. Aldrin, Jr., lunar module pilot, descends the steps of the Lunar Module ladder July 20, 1969 as he prepares to walk on the Moon.

  • 46 Years Ago Apollo 11 Landed on the Moon!“Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. Today is a historic day, for all Americans, for this is the day that (forty-six years ago) Edward ‘Buzz’ Aldrin, and Neil Armstrong landed in the surface of the Moon. Fellow astronaut, Michael Collins, remained in the Command Module as these two intrepid astronauts achieved, for mankind, what no other people or nation had. The top image is of the three headed to the Apollo 11 rocket in Cape Canaveral Florida. It took three short days for the three to make the 238,900 miles (384,400 km) journey from Earth orbit to Lunar orbit.”  THIS! This article is my return to regular style and format for my articles. As well, I share more personal insights into the time period, who I shared this experience with, how old I was and how the memories still stay with me. This article really did take me back to 1969… and my father and I sharing this adventure together.
Zenyuanlong - Konglong Dinosaur

Zenyuanlong – Konglong Dinosaur

  • China Discovers Winged, Feathered ‘Dragon’ – “Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. I was wandering around the internet, when I stumbled upon this very interesting article about an all new dinosaur species. The picture, at the top of this article, shows what scientists think, is how this dinosaur looked 125 million years ago. The following images are of the actual discovery, the fossilized remains of the konglong dinosaur.” This article I just brought more images and less text. I was working to put something of interest up as quickly as possible. My traffic was incredible, and I wanted to see if I could keep the traffic numbers UP!
Pluto and Charon Shine in False Color

Pluto and Charon Shine in False Color

  • Lost in Space – New Horizons Reaches Pluto “Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe and the very first article I have written and published in nearly a month! Briefly, I have been plagued… terribly plagued with pains all over my body. From the base of my head all the way down into my arms and hands and now into my thighs and legs. MY spinal stenosis and degenerative disc disease has worsened, greatly. I am completely unable to sit up on the side of my bed and writing/publishing. I simply can not last long enough to do research or gather images for a single article (anywhere from six to fourteen images per article).” This article was a genuine ‘Gargantuan’ article for the new blog location. With more than twelve images, fourteen footnotes and over sixteen pages long (in Word) I went the extra mile for the very FIRST edition of ‘Lost in Space’ to appear on all FOUR blog locations. FYI this article took three days and over fifteen hours to write, edit, upload, and embed images and publish. I had a hard time sleeping the night I published it… because of the pain it caused. Oh well… The price one pays for publishing a great article, right?
Varsity Gamers Get Scholarships

Varsity Gamers Get Scholarships

  • Varsity Gamers: Making History and Dumbfounding Parents“Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. While rummaging through the ‘news of the day’ I ran across this article at CNN. Seems gamers, just like myself, are now getting scholarships to college by just playing games… very well. This phenomenon is a boon to gamers of all walks of life, as the following story shows.” This is another ‘Drop-In’ article by me using the ‘Press This’ button I have installed on all my computer browsers. This allows me to just ‘drop-in’ an article that I have found without going through all the hassles that I did before my new blog software. This was a very pivotal article, for me and all gamers, when we can finally get a scholarship based on our gaming prowess!
Senator Lindsey Graham

Senator Lindsey Graham

  • Lindsey Graham has Comeback for ‘The Donald’ – “ In my defense… I just couldn’t help myself. The ‘theatrics’ of this whole Republican primary cycle has appealed to the actor in me. Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. Today I depart from my more serious fare, and share with you an article and a video that, well, it just tickled my funny-bone. In hopes that, you too, need a laugh today… here is the most recent clap trap from the bitter fight between Donald Trump and Senator Lindsey Graham. (FYI it comes in the form of a video)” This is the second article in the series of Donald V Lindsey. Shortly after the release of his video, Donald stopped picking on Senator Lindsey Graham, and started picking on Governor Rick Perry. It appears that unless Donald is picking on someone, he really has nothing to say… like he really ever does! LOL
Kepler Discovery

Kepler Discovery

  • NASA finds ‘Earth’s Bigger, Older Cousin’ – “Welcome back My Dear Shoevians to The Other Shoe. Well if this isn’t welcome news, then I have no idea what is! NASA’s Kepler spacecraft has discovered the very first closest ‘earth-like’ planet ever. Situated in the constellation Cygnus a mere 500 light-years away. This planet is no more than a 10th larger than our Earth. With a rotational year of 385 days per year, and a gravity just about twice that of our Earth.” This is/was my final article for the week of July 19th, 2015. This article was mostly a hybrid in form and format. My Dear Shoevians I am still working the bugs out of my new site and software, please hang in there while I get back to bringing you the content you like, in the form and format you are accustom.

.

With that, My Dear Shoevians, we bring this week’s edition of ‘A Week in Review’ to a close. I have to be completely honest. Writing, editing and publishing twelve articles did take a lot out of me. I am not so sure I will be able to keep up that same pace, week after week. I have enjoyed sharing all the different topics and content. Sharing images from New Horizons and Dawn to newly discovered Dinosaurs in China!

.

THIS is the type and range of content I have always longed to deliver to you, My Dear Shoevians. This coming week I will have somewhat less time, with an upcoming ‘Trip to L.A.!’. Then, the next week, there will be the ‘Trip to L.A.!” And you can expect to not see me for several days. That trip takes a terrible toll on my body, my neck and back. I am in severe pain and suffering for anywhere from 48 to 72 hours. I hope that I have time to put some content in a hopper, so I have have it automatically publish.

.

My Dear Shoevians this brings us to the very end of this article, and the very end of this week’s publications. I hope that you have enjoyed the ride, as much as I enjoyed providing the content for you.

.

As always… If you have enjoyed your time here? Be sure to ‘Like’ and ‘Share’ my work with friends, family and coworkers. Let them have the same enjoyable adventure that you have found in these pages.

.

Adieu!

.

Thank you!

.
